To receive booking requests, you need to mark when you're available to babysit. Here's how:

Go to your Dashboard

Navigate to your sitter dashboard after logging in.

Click on any date in the calendar to mark your availability for that day.

Add specific time windows when you're available, such as 6-10 PM, or multiple slots for more flexibility.

How do I create an account?

Creating an account is easy! Click the "Sign Up" button on the homepage, then choose whether you're a parent or a sitter. Fill in your basic information, verify your email, and you're ready to go.

How do connections work?

Connections are the foundation of BabysitBuddy. As a parent, you can search for sitters and send connection requests. Once a sitter accepts, you can see their availability and make booking requests. This system ensures that both parties agree to work together before any bookings can be made.

Can I cancel a booking?

Yes, you can cancel a booking if necessary. However, we recommend doing so with as much notice as possible as a courtesy. To cancel a booking:

  1. Go to your dashboard
  2. Find the booking under "Upcoming Bookings"
  3. Click the "Cancel" button
  4. Confirm the cancellation

The other party will be notified automatically of the cancellation.

How do I update my availability as a sitter?

As a sitter, you can update your availability through your dashboard:

  1. Log in and go to your sitter dashboard
  2. Click on any date in the calendar
  3. Add, edit, or remove time slots
  4. Save your changes

Parents you're connected with will see your updated availability immediately.

What happens if a sitter doesn't respond to my booking request?

Booking requests expire after 24 hours if there's no response. We encourage sitters to respond quickly, but if your request expires, you'll be notified and can try booking with another sitter.

Is my personal information secure?

Yes, we take security and privacy very seriously. Your personal information is encrypted and stored securely. We only share your information with people you choose to connect with, and even then, we limit what information is shared. You can review our full privacy policy here.
